HAVE A SAFE TRIP!

7 reasons to choose Les 2 Alpes for your summer holiday!

Return to the list

It wasn’t easy short-listing only 7 reasons to go to Les Deux Alpes, but we’ve managed it, just for you!

1) The largest skiable glacier in Europe
If you haven’t tried summer skiing before then Les 2 Alpes is the perfect place to give it a go! It is considered to be home to the largest skiable glacier in Europe, reaching up to altitudes of 3,600 metres, with stunning 360° panoramic views. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, a fan of perfectly groomed slopes or a Freestyler to the core, skiers of all levels will delight in the 700 metres of vertical drop, between 2,900 and 3,600 metres. And what’s more, Les 2 Alpes’ summer snowpark enjoys international acclaim.

The detachable JANDRI EXPRESS cable car takes you up to the glacier in just 24 minutes from the resort centre.

2) Mountain prices aren’t sky high in the summer!
If you’re looking to spend your summer holiday in the mountains, you’ll find a wide choice of accommodation options, including chalets and apartments, at unbeatable prices - on average 40% cheaper than in winter.

3) The best MTB destination!
Les 2 Alpes in summertime is a mountain biker’s paradise! Not only is the Bike Park one of the best in France, with its 88km of trails and 6 ski lifts, Les 2 Alpes’ MTB area is an amazing playground for fans of big bikes! Don’t miss the MTB Opening Party when you can enjoy riding on the MTB area as a VIP before the resort actually opens (for the first 600 riders to sign up), or the only French stage in Les 2 Alpes for European Downhill Cup from 22 to 24 of July. Not forgetting of course the Mountain Of Hell from the 1st to 3rd of July the legendary race that starts out from the top of the glacier and finishes in the resort. For girls only, if you want to discover Downhill MTB try the 100% Girl week from the 18 to 22 of July!

4) Recharge your batteries: a healthy mind in a healthy body
Staying at altitude gives your body a natural boost by producing more red blood cells to make up for the lack of oxygen. After a holiday in the mountains you always feel better, which explains why high level sports people come to train in Les 2 Alpes every summer! Breathing in fresh air, far from the pollution of the major cities, at one with nature…. there’s no better way to apply Erasmus’s theory of «A healthy mind in a healthy body».

5) Spending time as a family
Les 2 Alpes in summer is the perfect place to recharge your batteries as a family, enjoying activities together at the heart of nature. How about giving one of the many different hikes that start out from Les 2 Alpes a go? And make sure your don’t miss the 1, 2, 3 Tribus event. The concept is simple: you take up challenges as a family (tribe) from August 1st to the 5th. You’ll find games, entertainment, shows and lots more on the programme.

6) A flurry of events for everyone
Summer in Les 2 Alpes has something for everyone. We’ve already seen that mountain bikers are well catered for, but road cyclists are spoilt for choice too: on August 20th and 21st there’s the Granfondo, at the same time there is also Climbing for Life. And the whole family will love the fête des foins Village Fair on August 7th and the 1, 2, 3 Tribus event from August 1st to 5th.
