HAVE A SAFE TRIP!

What ‘s new for Winter 2016-2017

Return to the list

We don’t want you to be bored in Les 2 Alpes, so we’ve come up with a few surprises for the coming winter season!

1)      Snow Running Challenge

Les 2 Alpes is holding a weekend of sports in the snow on the 21st and 22nd of January 2017. As well as the traditional Night Snow Trail, with a choice of routes covering 10, 15 or 20km, this year we’re giving you the chance to take up another challenge on the Sunday, with the Mad Snow Race. The concept: a 5 km race, with obstacles to overcome so you can push back your limits whilst having fun.

2)      Torchlit descent world record attempt

Fancy taking on a group challenge in Les 2 Alpes? Come and try to beat the torchlit descent world record on the 22nd of February 2017. The aim is to gather together 3,000 people to carry out an exceptional 10km descent at sunset. Click here for more info.

3)      Ski touring

Ski touring takes centre stage this year in Les 2 Alpes with three new routes. One close to Les Vallons du Diable, one starting from Super Venosc and another starting out from Vallée Blanche (see the piste map). The défi Vertical event will be devoted entirely to ski touring and is set to take place on the 18th of March 2017. A date for your diary!

4)      Les Ecrins panoramic viewpoint

Take a walk into the void for an unforgettable experience facing the Ecrins mountain range. The viewpoint is accessible to all; just a 10 minute walk from the exit of the funicular station at 3,400 metres, or on skis from the top of the Puy Salié drag lift.

5)      Go behind the scenes of the ski area

Set off to visit the snow factory and learn how it works, discover the funicular’s engine room up on the glacier and meet people who are passionate about their profession. This is your chance to go behind the scenes of a ski resort, unravelling all the elements that combine to make ski lift related professions. Information and booking coming soon here.

6)      End of season events

Les 2 Alpes have come up with a few events to round the season off nicely… All we can say for now is that April looks set to be full of fun and games….with a derby (snowsports race where participants must get from point A to point B as fast as possible) taking place to close the season and concerts lined up from the 14th to the 17th of April. More info coming soon here.

7)       Surprise!
There will also be a few surprises along the way. But ssshhh, we'll never said a word. Not yet...
